Patriots Finally Getting It

            First off, I just want to say I called this when the Patriots were playing the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.  I never liked them because they’ve always been a bunch of cheaters.  I didn’t care for either team during the Super Bowl but I just really didn’t want the Patriots to win.  I’m happy there is some punishment but if it were me, I’d be a little more severe.

            

            If you didn’t hear, the Patriots were caught deflating the football from this last season, which is also known as cheating.  They’ve been caught before in previous seasons for videotaping the New York Jets’ defensive coaches’ signal back in 2007, which is not allowed.  The National Football League (NFL) fined the Patriots coach, Bill Belichick, and the Patriots team.  There were other rumors about them videotaping other teams like the St. Louis Rams.  Huh, doesn’t seem like they should be trusted does it?  But to my disbelief, they got to continue on. 

            

           It’s been a while since they were last caught.  I guess I can’t say they were definitely cheating but once a cheater, always a cheater.  That’s why they were recently caught again!  Luckily it wasn’t videotaping again.  This time they were deflating the football for the games!  Sweet!

            

          The chairman and CEO of the Patriots, Robert Kraft, obviously thinks the punishment was too severe.  How is it too severe if they’ve been caught cheating before?  Especially since they’ve done it again.  Obviously he is biased on the matter but I think he just looks idiotic, but I’m sure others would disagree. 

Despite the fact that I don’t like the Patriots, there are definitely people looking out for them.  Other players and celebrities were sticking up for Brady and the fans seem genuinely disappointed rather than ashamed.  Some think there was enough proof like Donald Trump, but I think its preeeetty certain of what was going on.  

Miley Cyrus: Pro or Against?

           We ALL know of Miley Cyrus and the actions she takes, and obviously she is aware too, but is it that bad?  Yes, Miley dances on a hotdog in some interesting leotards and I don’t really get the point, but it isn’t like she’s encouraging that behavior.  It’s hard because people tend to look up to celebrities and mimic their actions, but Miley DOES encourage her smilers to be individual and true to themselves.  It’s a good message to give to the fans!  She’s just encouraging people to be individual and not care, which is really important. A

            

            She strongly supports good causes and peoples’ choices too.  She has shown immense support for Bruce Jenner along with the LGBT community.  Remember when she brought the homeless man as her date for the VMA’s?  I think we all were confused because she was so supportive, but all was quiet for a little while after, leaving us wondering what was behind that story.  All of me

 Now she’s launched the Happy Hippie Foundation, a charity foundation to benefit LGBT, homelessness, and at-risk youth.  She announced it during a backyard concert featuring various artists like Joan Jett and Laura Jane Grace. Alabama and Alaska

With Miley radiating with positive vibes, it makes you question your opinion of her, or at least I do.  I do think she is a little wild and rambunctious.  I do give her credit for trying to create change in the world and trying to make equality happen among the people.  She’s giving everyone a chance and we should give her a chance to be herself.  It’s my opinion and I speak for myself, but you can pick your side of the story.  Are you pro Miley or against her? Ask me not 

Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge

            We’ve all seen pictures of Kylie Jenner before the lip enhancement and after.  I don’t know if she just really knows how to use a lip pencil, or if she took to cosmetic surgery, or whatever.  Either way it’s become a really hot topic to discuss.  She’s address the discussion before and politely asked for it to stop, but that never works. 

            It’s been a consistent topic of discussion but it tends to die down for a while, or at least until she posts a new selfie.  The people of the internet have taken a new direction of talk about the lips.  The #KylieJennerChallenge.  Yes, it’s been very popular on twitter and it was briefly trending on twitter for, let’s say, a week.  It didn’t last as long as it could’ve I guess but long enough to buzz.  People who attempted the challenge would get a small cup, whether it was a shot class, bottle, or anything with a small rim, but you could still fit your mouth in.  You then suck up all the air in the container like a vacuum and give it a little while.  Then, you remove your mouth from the container and congratulations!  You’re lips are swollen and look relatively similar to Kylie’s!!  People would post pictures or their reaction once they removed the container, and that is what got it popular.  For a while.

            The aftermath was not as funny.  The swelling would of course go down but some would find a bruised ring around their mouth and very likely would experience pain.  Who would want to take the pain and do that?  Unfortunately since it got around, many teens, some younger than Kylie who is only 17, have taken to the challenge?  Who knows what happens if you leave it too long or if it doesn’t go away??  It’s gross and terrible. 

            Kylie of course, has not taken part in the challenge or encouraged it by any means.  She’s been smart to not address it.  Being as famous as she is to create the look people are copying, it could help the “challenge” die down a little.

            I’ll spare you the pictures because it’s gross a semi horrifying, but be aware, it does more harm than good.

The Bruce Jenner Interview

            *I want to note that I will be addressing Bruce as “she” or “her” in this post because that’s who she is.

I’m pretty sure I’ve written about Bruce Jenner before but I wanted to address the interview she had with Diane Sawyer.  This is a huge step for someone to speak out about something so personal and be in the situation she is in.  Being in the spotlight all your life is unimaginable and having to deal with everyone almost constantly watching you and judging you is something I never hope to experience.  At one point or another I think everyone wishes at least once to be famous and some don’t ever lose that feeling.  When you see things like this happening ,that is the deal breaker for me.

            

           In this interview with Diane Sawyer, Bruce speaks out about being a woman.  She talks of how her family reacted, with step child Kim Kardashian being the most open-minded.  All of her kids have been supportive through this time.  I think the world was really intrigued by the interview, because it’s not something everyone is exposed to and this is someone people have looked up to for a long time and she’s not the one changing, it’s the people who view her who are changing.   It’s hard for some people to understand I think because some really cruel critics may say it’s a publicity stunt, but I genuinely think this is who Bruce is and it’s something she’s been hiding for a long time. 

            

           Spectators will have their say, but nothing’s going to change what’s there, or I should say, who’s there.  There are going to be supporters and of course there will be haters, but I guarantee this won’t affect the lives of the 90% of the people who have an opinion, so why say anything unless you’re showing some support.

            

           It’s like Thumper (from Bambi) says: “If you can’t say something nice… don’t say nothing at all”. 

The Force Awakens

            To all of those Star Wars nerds, this is beyond big.  Another movie for those dedicated fans.  If you haven’t seen Star Wars, you are welcome to come out from under your rock.  I can’t imagine anyone who hasn’t seen the series.  I can understand if you’ve only seen the originals, a little less understanding if you’ve only seen the newest, but I don’t think I could know anyone who hasn’t seen any.  The trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens first was introduced at comic con this year.  The new movie is headed to theatres near you on December 18^th, 2015.  It’s going to be a good holiday season.              Like I said before, if you haven’t seen them, then you have some catching up to do.  A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi were the original Star Wars movies, but then the prequels (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith) were created so they became episodes IV, V, and VI.  The Force Awakens will follow as episode VII. I am so excited that they are going to bring back some of the original “squad” which includes Han Solo and Chewbacca!  The trailer looks super good in my opinion.   They are definitely milking the money out of the Star Wars series, and I of course don’t blame them because that is more for me to enjoy.  The money they must be making is unimaginable.  Star Wars has been so successful with everything they do, and will of course continue to bring great success.  They have merchandise for everything and with them releasing new movies like they have been, it certainly helps the money flow and publicity. Nina's Last Bite

           

            I’ve always been a huge fan of the Vampire Diaries and unfortunately, Nina Dobrev, the actress who plays the shows main character Elena Gilbert, is leaving.  I never understand why they do that.  I know a lot of the time, people want to move on to “bigger and better” things, but you’re the freaking main character!  It just seems rude to me.  I kind of feel like this situation is different, though.  Since like the third season of the show, it’s been different along with Nina’s character.  Even then, I think she should stay until the show ends.  She apparently always saw her character’s storyline as a six-season adventure.  I don’t see how they can make “Elena” exit the show! I think the only way they can achieve that is to kill her off.  Not only is Nina leaving, but also Michael Trevino who plays Tyler Lockwood.  Come on!

            

            Nina had a lake house party after announcing that she was leaving the show.

"Dearest TVD Family, I've just spent the most beautiful weekend on Lake Lanier in Georgia with my own TVD Family, the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries. I want to be the first to tell you that it wasn't just a holiday celebration, it was a goodbye party" .

Her and some of TVD cast celebrated and embraced the goodbye.  That show has made me cry on several separate occasions, so I don’t know what to do with myself now.  I don’t know how the show will continue without her and the stories she was in.  The epic story the show follows is the relationship between Elena and the two Salvatore brothers, Stefan and Damon (portrayed by Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder). 

            

            There have been a few rumors that have accused Nina of leaving because of her ex and costar Ian Somerhalder.  They broke up two years ago and he’s engaged to Twilight star, Nikki Reed.  From Nina’s Instagram, she and Ian are on good terms as they wrap up their final scenes together. 

            

            She shared the sweetest post with her other not-in-real-life lover Paul Wesley about her leaving.

            

            It’s going to be sad not seeing her (and Michael) on the show but I do hope the best for them and you can bet that I’ll be rewatching the show often to relive the memories.

Coachella

            You’re either at Coachella or wishing you were.  Who wouldn’t?!  It’s one of the biggest music festivals in the world.  I certainly wish I was a 16 year old millionaire that could blow off school to go and have the time of my life, but unfortunately, that’s not the case. 

            

             I figure if you’ve ever read my blog, than you must know who’s who, so I’m going to assume you recognize the names Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler.  First off, wow what a couple.  They’re relationship goals.  But have you seen them (or pictures) of them at Coachella?  Whoa.  Obviously, Vanessa is like the Queen of Coachella.  She can wear anything and look AMAZING.  I’m convinced she could pull off a garbage bag and it would be trending.  Regrettably, Vanessa wasn’t there this year.                                                                                      

                   

    

Going to Coachella would be a dream and I can only imagine how many celebrities are there that you could meet.  Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend Tyga were there with Khloe K, and Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner were there for sure.  I mean if you’re going to cause a lot of problems, people will find out.  There have been a lot of rumors surrounding the two for a while whether they’re just really really good friends, or more.  They always seem too close for friends.  Kendall and Justin have been seen a lot together at the festival.  Apparently Kendall, Justin, and some friends were trying to get into the Neon Carnival Party that was only accessible for those 21 and older and seeing as Kendall is underage, they were denied access.  Justin being himself started fighting and arguing but they weren’t allowed in.  Later, the same night, Justin was grinding on some other model and Kendall left them crying.  WOW. 

Luckily Kendall didn’t have a fake ID while trying to get into the Neon Party.  Unfortunately for others, hundreds of fake IDs have been confiscated through Coachella.  That’s got to be really awkward. 

What’s a big event if there is not drama?  A small event.  Coachella looks like a dream and maybe one year…

The JB Roast

            I’ve written a little about the interesting person, named Justin Bieber.  We all know he’s a problematic boy, and people weren’t afraid to address it at the Roast of Justin Bieber!  After watching the episode of The Office where Michael is the subject of a roast, I’m sure it is hard to be the theme of a roast and listen to people you know diss you.  It seems that Justin handled it well, though, and all we can do is hope for change. A

            

           People were definitely dishing it to Justin!  Selena, Biebers ex, was a common subject in the roast (I can definitely see why considering they had/have the most complicated relationship) but it’s rumored that Selena feels she was the topic of the roast, not Justin!  Imagine if she were there and came up to speak… Oh well, I suppose it’s for the best considering there’s probably bad blood between the duo and she’s found a new man. A

            

            From the few video clips I’ve seen of the roast, Bieber was laughing along (on the outside) and took it without getting offended and firing back.  Honestly, I think it was well deserved that he was “targeted”.  His actions have proved to be very wrong and he needed to hear a lot of what was said, assuming he didn’t know it himself.  I personally HOPE he disappears from the radar for a while and gets himself together.  Fame changes a lot of people and he hasn’t been getting better since he first became well-known.  That doesn’t mean, however, that he can’t be changed and turn things around for himself.  It seems to be that even Amanda Bynes is cooling off after her crazy meltdown, so Justin could possible follow. 

 I thought the roast was very comical and very much needed whether it was people getting things off their chest’s or him getting it to his face.  

2 Directions

            First I want to start off with an apology because I know this was all over the internet and if you’re somehow reading this blog, then you probably have already seen a bunch of stuff about Zayn Malik leaving One Direction (they're going in two directions now, ha ha).  I’m obviously late to the discussion, but I still want to talk about it.

            Of course there are devastated “Directioners” across the globe, but I think most people are understanding that the band wouldn’t last forever and it just happened to be  Zayn who chose to leave first.  Just look at the Jonas Brothers! (I know, great comparison)  One Direction isn’t completely broken and will finish their tour without Zayn; we’re just going to miss a really important high note in “You and I”.  Many bands break up and it’s totally fine if Zayn wants to settle down with his fiancée Perry Edwards, or whatever he wants to do.  It’s just a little too soon that he had his new music released so soon after leaving the band!  It still stings, Zayn.  It also seems a bit rude that he won’t finish their tour before going solo.  Naughty Boy, the new producer, is receiving a lot of hate from the One Direction fandom. 

            As much or as little as the fans are coping, apparently not all the members of Zayn’s former band are accepting (*cough *cough, Louis).  Louis Tomlinson has apparently called Zayn out as a coward.  Ouch, that must be tough seeing as Louis, Zayn, and the boys have practically been family for so long with a band that started five years ago. 

            There’s talk and pictures of Zayn and Perrie heading on a nice vacation and leaving the world behind for a bit, but he left people stirring.  Of course the press makes it seem like he’s avoiding his ex-band members, but he could be just avoiding everyone for a while after his big decision.

           Who knows what’ll happen or if there’s “bad blood” between the boys but we hope it’s for the best.

The Difference Between Dislike and Insanity

            I can’t find a way to communicate to both sides of every argument or relate to every story or topic, but I can’t help the sick feeling I had in my stomach when I read this article, or the feeling I have now typing this.  I believe in equality for all, including the sexuality of a person and who they are.  I can't try to relate to the other side.  I don’t know if this is a real thing that was actually proposed or could be processed, but even the thought of shooting someone in the head or “any other convenient way” because of who they are is utter insanity.  I have no respect for anyone who votes for that cause.  It’s not only cruel, but inhumane.  I don’t have words to describe what I’m feeling, and I can't imagine the feelings of someone who is homosexual.

            

             I know people who are homophobic and I know people who are homosexual.  Everyone is entitled to believe or be what they want, but it’s the actions people chose to take that can define who they are.  I think the legalization of the proposal is a long-shot, but even so, the fact that the idea was proposed makes me lose hope for this world.  I understand not everyone supports gay rights or same-sex marriage, but this is too far.  What are these people trying to do?  Shoot down amazing people in the world like Ellen DeGeneres?  I don’t think so.  This is barbaric and takes homophobia up ten times.  I understand people’s religion influence their views on what’s right and what’s wrong, and maybe it isn’t even religion and it’s just their views.  Looking at it though, would you feel better killing someone because you don’t like the way they’re wired?  Some people might think the same about you for thinking such cruel thought and better yet, proposing it to the state of California.  You know what this makes me think of?  The Purge.  It was a good movie in my opinion, but it was a MOVIE and I don’t want it to become REALITY.

            When I was younger, I used to watch the news all the time with my mom.  We’d recognize the face of Brian Williams anywhere.  In today’s new, you won’t see his face on your television while watching the NBC News.  Why you may ask? A

            Some of you may know that a well-known news reporter, Brian Williams, recently was called out on a lie about being in a recent helicopter crash.  The reported crash was that a helicopter was shot down by RPG fire, and while that part was true, Brian was indeed NOT there.  I don’t believe he is the first reporter to ever lie about being involved in an incident or a story, but I personally think it’s sad because I used to watch the news program all the time.  I don’t know why someone would lie about that, especially a news reporter. 

            Because of his actions, he’s been suspended from his job and probably won’t be back.

Wrap on Glee

          The Fox TV series, Glee just wrapped up their last episode ever, finishing it with their 6^th season.  I, like many others, have fallen under its spell.   The shows starts off with a bunch of kids from completely different social backgrounds who all come together for one musical and dancing group, called the Glee Club.  Each person is affected in a different way and there are some obstacles they each face, but still together.  I think this show is really inspiring and sends so many messages to adolescences.  The show teaches you self and social difference, finding yourself and others, acceptance, morals, and so much more.  It’s really eye opening from my experience and opinion.

          

         

          After season 4, the show lost an important character, friend, and love.  Cory Monteith died on July 13^th, 2013 from a toxic mix of heroin and alcohol.  Cory had been struggling with drugs before and would check into rehab and stay clean for a while, but it never lasted long.  Other Glee cast members knew of his struggling addiction and tried to help, including his girlfriend, Lea Michelle.  Lea and Cory met through Glee and became quite the pair.  They were planning their futures together and then he was gone.  Through everything, Lea has been SO STRONG.  There are many interviews and articles she addressed her situation in and she’s so powerful to push through something like that.

           I know the hardest episode for me to ever watch was “the Quarterback”.  It’s a tribute episode to Cory and his character Finn Hudson.  They do not address what happened to Cory, but I think anyone who has watched or was watching knew and was deeply shaken.  The death was really hard and I remember watching the Teen Choice Awards that followed his death to have some of the members of Glee come out and remember Cory.  Lea Michelle spoke and I think everyone there was shaken.  She had a “Cory” necklace on and I remember feeling so sad. 

          The show must go on, but Cory will never be forgotten.  Before Cory died, the show had already planned out its ending with “Finn” and Lea’s character “Rachel”.  But since then, things had to change and they’ve continued on.  Even without “Finn Hudson”, the show has so many likeable characters.   

          

          With the show ending, I want to recommend it to anyone who loves comedy-drama shows might love this like I do.  I think it’s really captivating and worth a watch.

Zeddlena!!

          Relationships are nothing if not complicated…  I previously addressed the issues between Selena Gomez and the on again off again relationship with bad boy Bieber.  I mentioned how I thought Selena should get the heck out of that unstable relationship and look where she is now!  She and the music producer seem to have a nice chemistry about them.  Finally a chance for Selena to break free!

          

         As we all probably remember Selena’s heartbreaking performance of “The Heart Wants What It Wants” at the America Music Awards (AMA’s), we kind of got a taste of what Selena saw through her eyes when she was with Justin Bieber and the relationship they had.  Her performance was emotional and empowering.  For what I could tell, there was a lot to get through and performing that song probably was NOT easy on her!  We’ve seen stories about Selena that almost always seem to be linked to the Biebs and it never seems good.

          

         In recent news however, Selena and Zedd seem to be quite cozy and comfortable with each other!   Go Zeddlena!  If what I gather is true, then this relationship is probably going to benefit not only Selena and Zedd, but perhaps Bieber!  Maybe he will see her happy and he’ll finally realize (but probably not) that he needs to mature and move on instead of dragging her (Selena) around like a dog.

          

          The new couple has been most recently seen together at the Oscar after party, also the Vanity Fair party, together!  In some pictures, it looks like Zedd never left Selena’s side for too long or was too far away.  How cute.  I’ve also seen stories about people in Selena’s life like Jennifer Aniston who thinks Zedd is a good guy and will be good for Selena, so it’s great to see so many people supporting Zeddlena.  There were some questions about why Selena wasn’t with Zedd on the red carpet, or why she wasn’t there with him at all, but seeing as they seem to live up the after party together, we shouldn’t read too far into it. 

          

          Selena and Zedd also just created a song together called “I Want You To Know” that was leaked early!  The lyrics are all adorable and almost saying “I love you” without actually speaking the three words and eight letters.  The two seem to be facing big news together, and all positive! 

The Oscars

                I know I always blog about the award shows that go on, but basically everyone is there and they all look so good!  The 87^th annual Oscars were last night (2/22/15).  Neil Patrick Harris was this year’s host, following behind Ellen DeGeneres who hosted the award show last year.

The nominees were all great and I was really happy about a lot of the wins.  I do wish The Theory of Everything would’ve won for “Best Picture”, but from what I understand, Birdman was really good.  I really thought Julianne Moore deserved her win.  The movie was okay, but her acting stood out to me.

          I’m always really impressed with the looks of the award show and red carpet.  I like how much effort they put into them.  The lights, camera, and action are so vital and everything looked perfect and very manicured.  The awards, however, are not the only perfect looking thing.  So many people just looked like they walked out of a magazine (perhaps with more clothing).  I love looking at all the dresses (mostly dresses) on the women and their hairstyles, even though I can’t fathom how much their look adds up to be, or how much they get for wearing certain designs by people.  I was really impressed with the presentation of the whole event. 

          

          When the award show actually started, I personally found them kind of boring.  They weren’t bad, but I really thought Ellen did a fantastic job last year keeping the audience alive.  She ordered pizza and took one fantastic selfie for crying out loud.  Don’t get me wrong, I like Neil Patrick Harris, but I thought Ellen did a great, especially because she is so used to talking in front of a big group, or live audience.

         

           If I had to rate this year’s Oscars, I’d give it a solid 7/10.  The show was alright, but again I thought the overall look was really what drew me in.

Beauty and the Beast

            I can officially count this as the 3^rd blog post I’ve written about or mentioned Emma Watson.  I can’t find any reason not to!  She’s like my woman crush every day.  If any of you don’t know, Disney has been creating and remaking live action versions of their Princess movies!  Malificent was a recreation of Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella is coming out in March, and Beauty and the Beast has been confirmed with Emma Watson playing the famous and quirky Belle! I LOVE Beauty and the Beast and I just went to Disney this past Christmas Break and I’ve been obsessing over Disney more than usual.  Belle is a huge deal to Disney and I’m really excited for this movie.  You all probably know how much I love Emma Watson and I told you of my love for Disney, so her playing Belle is the cherry on top.  Disney’s original Beauty and the Beast (1991) made $424,967,620 worldwide in grosses. The movie has been nominated for six Academy Awards and won two.  I’d say that’s very successful.

            The release date hasn’t been set yet, but the director Bill Condon plans to begin the production this year (2015).  Emma has released this information on her Facebook page and seems to be really excited to play Belle.  I think the role is a good fit for Emma.  She’s a well-known feminist and very intellectual, as is Belle.  Belle also reminds me a lot of the character Emma portrayed in the Harry Potter series, Hermione Granger.  Hermione loved to read, had a strong and leader-like personality, and was charming.  Many know how well Emma played Hermione and with such a similar role, Belle should be very easy to channel. 

                    

Beauty and the Beast is a tale as old as time (ha ha).  A unique girl lives in a place where she sticks out and wants to be more adventurous.  She finds her way to an enchanted castle after her father gets lost in the woods and finds herself in a fairytale much like the books she reads.  If that’s not a story that draws you in, I don’t know where your loyalties lie.

            I think the story is inspiring, much like Watson, and it’s really cute.  It’ll teach you to look past the outside and look inside a person.  It also teaches kindness, intelligence, and obviously love.  Where would Disney be without its love stories?  I would be lost as I grew up watching these movies and still do.  I’m really interested in how Disney will make this live action movie, like bringing characters like Lumiere and Cogsworth to life.  If anyone can do it, you can count on Disney to be successful.

Bruce Jenner's Big Change

There's a lot of talk about the former Olympian, Bruce Jenner, making the transition to turn into a female.  Knowing the world of course means you know EVERYONE has an opinion, including me.  Theses opinions however (including mine), should not be saying, "Bruce made a mistake" or "please say it isn't true" because regardless of these opinions, it's happening so don't waste your breath and conserve oxygen.  It's got to be really hard to go through something like this and have it be so public.  Tabloids everywhere, reliable or not, are documenting his decision. There is some question about how the information has become public.  There are stories making assumptions that his daughters, Kendal, Kylie, Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney have been leaking information to outside sources.  Kris, his ex, has also been accused for revealing Bruce’s decision.  InTouch magazine created a false cover of Bruce that is a photo of actress Stephanie Beacham with Bruce’s face

The guy has basically been in the lime light since he was young and an Olympic athlete and winner.  He married Kris Kardashian and has been on many seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.  He and Kris are now split and he's making his own life choices, such as becoming a female.  A lot of stories say it’s been something he’s hidden since he was five years old.  Being 65, that’s a long time to stay hidden and burry the emotions he felt.  From what I’ve seen, he’s been making the transition slowly, almost as if he is making the transition slow and adaptable. 

If Bruce doesn’t have enough to deal with, he was just involved in a car wreck and could be facing time.  One of the drivers was left dead and there is surveillance footage showing Bruce hit to cars, leading one of the cars into the opposing lane and hitting another car head-on.  The surveillance footage can’t be accessed at this time but there IS a recreation video.

Poor Bruce!  So much talk all at once!  Things aren’t going very well for him, and I honestly hope he can get through with his decision without too much trouble.  

SAG Awards

            Tonight was the night of the 21^st annual SAG Award ceremony!  SAG stands for Screen Actors Guild.  It started back in 1995 and it’s basically addressing that acting is a collaborative art and it draws attention to the chemistry you have with your costars.  The winners all did a fantastic job!  There were all sorts of celebrities there from Uzo Aduba, Jared Leto, Emma Stone, and Lupita Nyong. 

            

            One of my favorite TV shows, Modern Family, has been nominated for the past six years for the best comedy series ensemble and won the last four!  I think it’s a really funny and cute show and definitely deserved the win.  I haven’t seen Orange is the New Black, but Modern Family is a family fun show for just about everyone!  Obviously the cast isn’t an ACTUAL family, but they all seem to really get along and treat each other like a family and I find that adorable.  I see Modern Family kind of like the new Office, but in completely different ways.  The Office is a show that will last a lifetime and has been nominated 9 times and has won twice, but that’s only for the SAG’s.  They both are hilarious and can be really relatable.  The Office is more of a mature show than Modern Family.

           

            I only recently started watching the SAG awards back about 2 years ago and I always enjoy them!  I’m one of those people who love watching award shows to see my favorites win (obviously) and I love seeing what everyone’s wearing!  I do admit, sometimes I don’t understand the outfit choices for some people, but either way, I love it!  I wouldn’t say the SAG’s are one of the MAIN award shows, but I kind of like that.  They’re of course important, but I mostly hear about the Golden Globes or the Oscars.

           

            I suppose I never thought of this, but it has come to my attention that there has to be some sort of set of rules or regulations, and as it turns out, there are!  Not everyone can be nominated and there just CAN’T be a category for everyone.

Pirates of the Caribbean 5

When I was younger, I watched everything from the Princesses, Barbie, Indiana Jones, and Pirates of the Caribbean.  I didn’t limit myself to the girly movies, I wanted to watch everything my brother did.  As I’ve gotten older, I’ve seen Johnny Depp in almost every role imaginable.  He can play the crazy Mad Hatter in Alice and Wonderland,  the gangster in Public Enemies, and a strange boy in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?  Since I gre up watching Pirates of the Caribbean and that’s one of my favorite Disney movie series, I really like him as the insane Captian Jack Sparrow.  The first movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, came out in 2003 and the fifth movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales is coming out in 2017 and I’m excited.

I really liked the first movie when everyone is introduced in 2003.  You meet Captain Jack Sparrow and follow him as he gets in trouble and meets new people.  I liked the setting of the movie and the time it took place.  I also think its ties in adventure with humor and love.  Pretty good plot for a movie, huh?  The first movie made $305,413,918 in Domestic Total Gross and worldwide $654,264,015.

I like how they keep the same characters from the first movie to the second.  In the 2006 film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, you meet a new villain and find out more about everyone.  The same characteristic of love, action, and humor tie into this movie, much like the first.  This movie made $423,315,812 in Domestic Total Gross and worldwide $1,006,179,725.  It did even better than the first movie, which isn’t surprising. 

The third movie ends the tale for some of the characters, but the story isn’t done.  I like how they get some new people and change the love interests, otherwise the stories would get old and we wouldn’t be working to this fifth movie.  The story changes up a bit and there is some good action within the movie.  This movie made more than the first, but less than the second.  Its Domestic Total Gross was $309,420,425 and worldwide $963,420,425.  This movie was released in 2007.

The fourth movie came a bit later than expected, but I think the third movie was supposed to be the end.  The 2011 movie was a different story and a new love story and villain was introduced.  The movie did well, but less than the others with a Domestic Total Gross of $241,071,802.  The worldwide amount was $1,045,713,802.  Even then, the story doesn’t end.

I also really like the soundtracks for each movie.  The keep to a theme and when I hear a song from any of the movies, I know its Pirates.

The fifth one planned for 2017 I believe will be the final movie in the Pirates series.  The movies have done really well to make it this far.

The Season of Love

            Whether you’re single or taken, it’s that time of the year!  Yes, Valentine’s Day is approaching.  I miss the old Elementary school days when everyone was your Valentine.  You’d have parties and get a bunch of treats along with cute little Valentines from your class.  I personal loved decorating the box to put them in.  Valentine’s Day definitely has a different feeling as you get older.  If you don’t have a “significant other” it can be kind of lonely. 

           
             I have found that a lot of products do really well during this season.  The jewelry, the flowers, the chocolates, but the movies, too!  I think one of the best parts is all the romantic movies that come out around that time.  In 2014, the movie, Endless Love, came out on Valentine’s Day and it was super cute.  This year, 50 Shades of Grey will be coming out based on the book, 50 Shades of Grey by E. L. James.  Considering its rated R and I would find it really awkward to see it with my parents, I think I’ll wait to see that one.  I love watching other movies though, like the Last Song, which is one of my favorite movies.  I also love to see guys buying flowers or chocolates to make someone happy, whether it’s their mom, girlfriend, boyfriend, or whoever!  It ALMOST makes up for being single. 

            
             Let’s not forget a LOT of songs are written about love and relationships, so there’s got to be a lot of inspiration for writing songs around this time.  Of course not all songs are written in the happier “life is good” kind of light.  In all seriousness, there is a spike of breakups and divorce right around Valentine’s Day.  Weird and unexpected, right?  So who knows, Taylor Swift may have a new single or album out around the day of February 14^th.  If you are feeling the love the listen to a song like Ed Sheeran’s new single.  I really love the song, “Thinking Out Loud”.

            
             Within the past year, there has been a weird occurrence of “Valentine’s Day Cards” on twitter consisting of inappropriate but hilarious “cards” for this occasion.  Knowing the people of the internet, not all of the jokes are appropriate, but they sure can make me laugh.  I don’t really know how this got started, I just saw a BUNCH on Twitter last year and they’ve started making an appearance for this year.  There have been a bunch of accounts created full of these “cards”.

            No matter how you chose to spend your Valentine’s Day this year, make it a good one!

Unfriended

         If you like scary movies, this one might be for you.  “Unfriended” is categorized as a horror and thriller movie.  I recently saw the trailer for this movie allll over twitter.  I was freaked but I REALLY want to see it because now I’m so curious, but I mean curiosity killed the cat, so we'll see.  I think I have watched the trailer about 6 times.  The movie portrays a girl living in today’s society and the life of some teens and the pressures.  It goes into cyberbullying and suicide.  The Universal Pictures movie is to be released in the USA in April of this year and it hasn't been rated yet.

            I think making a movie like this could be a good thing to publicize more about teen suicide rates and bullying.  The suicide rate seem to be going up more and more every year and social media plays a big role in bullying to the point of hopelessness.  Not everyone understands the importance of being aware and how being supportive could save a life.  I know I’ve experienced a friend in the wrong mindset and it affected me.  This movie could provide knowledge and entertainment to today’s youth.
